Our community suffered minor damage due to wind, and we are running on generator power. We are happy to report, however, that all residents are safe, as that is our utmost priority.

Residents of Harbour Health at South Port Square are safe and well at our LCS sister community, and we anticipate their return to South Port Square today or tomorrow.

We are taking immediate steps to resolve the damage to the property, but please be assured this will cause minimal disruption to residents as repairs are made expeditiously.

We kindly ask to limit calls to the hotline to emergency situations only. We plan to provide any additional communication here continuously as updates are available and pertinent.

Our thoughts are with those who have suffered catastrophic loss as a result of Hurricane Milton at this time.

Hurricane Milton Update – Tuesday, October 8 at 3:58 p.m. ET

Dear Residents, Family Members and Community Members,

As Hurricane Milton approaches, we want to provide you with an important update regarding our community’s safety plan.

With guidance from state and local officials, we are currently in the process of transferring residents who reside in Harbour Health Center on the campus of South Port Square to a sister LCS community. This includes all residents living in assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. All residents and family members impacted by this transfer have been made aware.

For the residents living in independent living of Gables East and West, our plan is to shelter in place, which we have successfully done in previous storms, including Hurricane Ian, as we are traditionally a shelter-in-place community. We are well-equipped to manage the storm on site and are confident in our safety plan.

As always, our top priority remains the safety and well-being of the residents of South Port Square. We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide updates as the storm progresses.

Please call the front desk at South Port Square with questions 941-625-1100. If we lose phone service, please call the LCS hotline at 888-214-8464. We kindly ask to limit calls to the hotline for emergency situations only. We will continue to provide communication here as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your support.
