18 Punta Gorda senior citizens graduate from AI certification program

PUNTA GORDA, Fla.—The sound of graduates from the South Port Square Retirement Community rang out this month in cheers as a group of 18 older adults graduated from the “A-I for Work and Life” certificate program.
The program, held from September through December 2025, consisted of eight instructional sessions, weekly quizzes, and a cumulative final exam.
The graduation ceremony was held on Wednesday.
The senior living community offered the course in partnership with the University of North Florida.
Residents learned how to use artificial intelligence in daily life and communication, and, most importantly, how to use it safely.
